East of Phuket the sea changes character completely. Phang Nga Bay is a drowned mountain range - dozens of limestone towers standing in shallow emerald water, hollowed by caves and hiding lagoons that open only through cracks in the rock.
It is the most sheltered cruising ground in the region: even when the west coast rolls with monsoon swell, the bay stays flat. A yacht day here feels less like a beach trip and more like exploring another planet.

Phang Nga Bay yacht charter: questions
How much does a private yacht to Phang Nga Bay cost?
Phang Nga Bay is a full-day route. On a sailing catamaran such as the Lagoon 42 a full day starts at ฿35,000 for the whole boat from May to October and ฿45,000 from November to April; the larger Lagoon 500 starts at ฿45,000. A fast motor yacht like the Princess 65 starts at ฿125,000. Prices are per boat with crew, not per person - all rates are on the prices page.
Is Phang Nga Bay good in the green season?
Yes. It is the most sheltered cruising ground around Phuket: when the west coast rolls with monsoon swell between May and October, the bay usually stays flat. That makes it the most reliable full-day route in the green season.
Can we kayak into the lagoons?
Yes. Kayaks are on board, and the day usually includes paddling into the hong lagoons, which can only be reached through gaps in the rock.
Catamaran or motor yacht for Phang Nga Bay?
A sailing catamaran gives you space, shade and an unhurried day, and the calm water of the bay suits it well. A motor yacht covers more of the bay in the same time. Our guide Catamaran or motor yacht compares the two.
What is included and what is extra?
Captain, crew, fuel, insurance, towels, drinking water, soft drinks, paddle boards, kayaks and snorkelling gear are included. National park fees are paid separately, according to the route you actually take.
