A sailing trip in Phuket means a whole catamaran for your group: captain and crew, sails up when the wind allows, and a day built around swimming, snorkelling and lunch on board. No shared tour boat and no fixed timetable.

We have ten sailing catamarans for 9 to 50 guests. A half day starts at ฿25,000 for the whole boat, not per person. Our own boats are the Lagoon 42 Silver Moon and the Bali Catspace Siva, the other eight are partner catamarans.

Where a sailing day goes

Coral Island (Koh Hae). About twenty minutes off Phuket's south coast, with a shallow reef a few metres from the beach. The easy half day. More about Coral Island

Racha Yai. Clear water, white-sand bays and some of the best snorkelling around Phuket. A full day. More about Racha Yai

Maiton. A private island east of Phuket with the clearest water in the area and a pod of dolphins that often plays in the channel. A full day. More about Maiton

Phang Nga Bay. Limestone karsts, sea caves and kayaking into hidden lagoons. The bay stays calm when the west coast rolls with monsoon swell, so from May to October it is the most reliable full day. More about Phang Nga Bay

Phi Phi. Too far for a relaxed sailing day trip. On a catamaran it works best as an overnight trip.

Do you actually sail?

When wind and route allow, yes. A sailing catamaran also has engines, and the captain decides on the day how to make each passage: under sail, under power or both together. Booking a sailing catamaran does not mean every crossing happens with the engines off.

If sailing itself is the point of your day, tell us when you book. A flexible route gives the crew more chances to sail. More in Your first time sailing in Phuket.

Questions about sailing trips

How much does a private sailing trip in Phuket cost?

A half day on a sailing catamaran starts at ฿25,000 for the whole boat with crew, a full day from ฿35,000 from May to October. Larger catamarans cost more. All prices are in the table above.

Do we need any sailing experience?

No. On a crewed charter the captain and crew handle the boat. You can watch, ask questions or help with the sails if the crew invites you.

Is a catamaran good for people who get seasick?

A catamaran sits on two hulls and stays flat, with very little of the lean and roll of a single-hull boat. For anyone prone to seasickness it is the more comfortable choice.

Is a sailing catamaran good with children?

Yes. The decks are wide and flat, there is shade, and the pace suits a day of swimming and snorkelling.

What is included in the price?

Captain and crew, fuel for the agreed route, insurance, towels, drinking water and soft drinks, and snorkelling gear. Lunch is served on full-day trips. National park fees for the route, hotel transfer and extras such as a photographer or champagne are paid separately.
