A week on a yacht gives you time to explore the islands without rushing from one stop to the next. You can spend longer swimming in a quiet bay, enjoy meals on board and balance time at anchor with daytime passages.
Below is a sample itinerary for a private yacht charter from Phuket. It is a starting point, not a fixed schedule. The captain will confirm the route based on weather, sea conditions, the yacht and your group’s preferences. The itinerary does not include night passages.
Day 1: Phuket to Coral Island
After boarding, the crew will welcome you on board, show you around the yacht and explain the main safety rules. Once everyone is settled, you will set off towards Coral Island, a short distance from Phuket.

Keep the first day relaxed: swim, get comfortable on board and enjoy lunch at sea. The captain will choose a suitable place to stop for the night depending on the conditions.
Day 2: Racha Yai
The yacht heads to Racha Yai, known for its clear water and places to swim and snorkel. You can spend much of the day at anchor, swimming, relaxing on deck or exploring the island.

The pace can suit your group. You might prefer a long, restful stop over adding another destination to the day.
Day 3: Racha Noi or Another Day at Racha Yai
If the weather and sea conditions are suitable, the route can continue to Racha Noi. Alternatively, you can spend another day around Racha Yai and enjoy a slower pace.
The captain will help decide which option works best. There is no need to visit as many places as possible; extra time in one bay can make the trip more enjoyable.

Day 4: Passage to the Phi Phi Islands
On this day, the yacht sets off towards the Phi Phi Islands. The passage may take up a significant part of the day, so the captain will plan the departure time and any stops according to the route and conditions.

After arriving, you can swim and relax on board. The captain will choose a suitable anchorage based on the conditions and what is available.
Day 5: Exploring the Phi Phi Islands
Spend the day swimming, snorkelling and exploring the area around the Phi Phi Islands. Depending on the conditions and the plan for the day, you may be able to visit nearby spots by tender or take a local canoe where appropriate.

Popular locations can be busy. The captain can help choose the timing and stops to suit your group and the conditions on the water. If Maya Bay is on your list, mention it when planning.
Day 6: Return Towards Phuket
The yacht begins the return journey. If the weather and timing allow, you can stop at a suitable island or spend part of the day at anchor.
There is also time to relax on board, pack without rushing and enjoy your final evening at sea.

Day 7: Return to Phuket
After breakfast, the yacht returns to the marina. The crew will help you gather your belongings before you disembark.
The Route Can Be Adapted
This sample focuses on the southern islands and the Phi Phi area. If you are more interested in limestone cliffs, sea caves and lagoons, you can discuss a Phang Nga Bay itinerary departing from Ao Po. The route and order of stops depend on the yacht, weather and your group’s preferences.
For a shorter trip, see our 3-4 day itineraries from Phuket.
Before booking, discuss these details with the crew:
- the number of guests and whether children are travelling;
- the islands and activities your group is interested in;
- whether you need a chef or a special menu;
- what is included in the charter price and which costs are extra;
- boarding and disembarkation times;
- how the route may change if the weather conditions require it.
A week-long charter gives you the flexibility to plan around your group. You can explore the islands, swim and relax on board at a pace that suits you, without returning to a hotel each evening.
Please note: This is a sample itinerary, not a confirmation of specific anchorages or timings. The final route is agreed with the captain and may change depending on sea conditions.
